Preset Browser

Overview

The preset browser is primarily a tool for locating presets easily, but it has many other useful features, including uploading, downloading, and rating presets.

Features

Keyboard Shortcuts

The number keys (0 - 9) highlight the nth row in the browser. The enter key loads the selected preset. These two shortcuts can be used together: suppose if your search turns up three results and you want the third, hit 3, then enter. The esc key closes the dialogue.

Multi-keyword search

The search function updates the preset list live. It looks at all text fields including author, preset name, and tags.

Preset Tagging

Tags help you organize presets into genres, instrument classes, and other groups. You can edit tags by selecting the preset, clicking on the text field, and editing the text. In this text field, tags are comma-separated.

Community Presets

The browser lets you view a list of community presets by clicking the 'globe' button. Presets that you have already downloaded are excluded from this list. When you download a preset, it will be highlighted in your preset list.

Preset Sharing

A simple click to the upload button uploads the associated preset to the server, making it available to the community. Sharing factory presets is disallowed (as it would serve no purpose!)

Also, the sharing of presets with author names associated with Amaranth Audio is not permitted, so that users can tell when a preset is actually authored by the company.

Rating

You can rate presets to keep track of your favourites. At present, preset ratings are just for your own purpose; they not shared with the community.
